Todd Mitchem is no stranger. He is an entrepreneur, CEO and Co-founder of Todd Mitchel Companies (TMC) and a 2018 congressional candidate. Along with running his successful companies he is an avid speaker and provides guidance on the power of change, communication and working together as a team.

We spoke to Todd in a recent podcast about the business approach to full legislation of cannabis and the types of jobs that will be generated. Todd has had an impressive career with building multiple businesses in the last five years. He came into the cannabis industry without any prior knowledge in this area, but his hard work and dedication led to his company’s profit increase of more than 1600 percent.  The company was growing so fast that it became difficult to hire so many people at once. This led to the launch of a campaign called Canna Search, which had never been done before.  This campaign gave more jobs to people who were interested in the growing cannabis industry by unifying cannabis companies together to increase the amount of professionalism in this industry.

Canna Search welcomed people from all professions such as doctorates who wanted to get into the science of cannabis and people who had studied plant science agriculture and business. This effort has generated 25,000 jobs in Colorado and if he manages to build another one in California, more than 200,000 new jobs can be created. These are only a few of the many fascinating things Todd has been able to accomplish.

It is the first time in history that a marijuana industry leader has declared a run for US Congress as a libertarian. Todd expressed his views on fellow politicians who promote the medicinal role marijuana plays but not as a recreation. For him marijuana is not moral or immoral but it is a substance that can do a lot of good as compared to the mindset from the 1930s that cannabis is only for ‘stoners’.

He also talked about the dissatisfaction among voters with the current political system and people being fed up with both republicans and democrats. Many people in Colorado, where he is running for the second Congressional District in 2018, are libertarian minded people who care deeply about freedom and American politicians getting to work! As a congressional candidate who is in the cannabis industry, Todd has a much bigger voice, more talking points and can communicate with the media easily.
